Research is also showing that massage therapy can help reduce anxiety and depression, boost immune function, lower blood pressure and relieve pain in varying populations.  And there are studies indicating that massage therapy can improve body image and help those with dementia.  One small study even showed that when people receive massage therapy, they may start to make better choices in their lives.
